Katherine to Tennant Creek

Before leaving Katherine this morning we visited the Topdidj Cultural Centre. We are so glad we made the time to do this. Manuel is the guide who was born in the bush near Katherine and did not see a white fella until he was about 7 years old. He had so many stories to share and taught us about the aboriginal culture. We were taught how to do traditional cross hatch paintings, how to light fires using fire sticks ands how to throw a spear using a woomera.
We learnt that Lilly and Ann would able to survive - Ann had success lighting the fire with fire sticks and Lilly proved to be successful with a spear.
All up a great experience.
The remainder of the day was spent driving to Tennant Creek close to 700 km.

A nice cooling off dip in Mataranka Springs on the way.
